ShortList is looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to join a financial services business based in Cheadle. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Platform Engineer with experience in cloud transformation projects to move into a leadership role.
The Lead Platform Engineer will manage a team of 3rd Line and Cloud Engineers in a growing platform team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing cloud migration to Azure and mentoring team members to become more cloud focussed. You will also be encouraged to expand on the range of cloud technologies used by the business in future.
Key skills and responsibilities:
- Manage and own on-premise and cloud infrastructure
- Lead tech support to the business
- Manage and support a team of platform engineers
- Manage a virtualised environment
- Experience working in an enterprise environment
- Experience managing cloud platforms
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Working knowledge of backup systems
The Lead Platform Engineer position offers flexible working with a requirement to be in the Cheadle office at least once a week. This is easily commutable from Manchester, Warrington, Crewe and Cheshire. The role is paying up to £80,000 + 20% bonus and impressive holidays.
