ShortList is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team of an established, multi billion dollar credit union in the Southwest. The Chief Financial Officer will own financial strategy across the full balance sheet and report directly to the President and CEO.
This role would suit someone with eight to ten years of progressive financial leadership and with experience of advising a Chief Executive and a Board on strategy, not just running the numbers. The role is on-site and it is not remote.
Key Responsibilities for the Chief Financial Officer role:
- Partner with the CEO, Board and executive leadership team on long range strategy, financial performance and major business decisions
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, capital management and scenario analysis
- Own asset liability management, liquidity, investments, funding strategy and treasury
- Drive profitability analysis and guide pricing across products, services and business units
- Provide executive oversight of Business Intelligence and enterprise analytics
- Lead financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, partnerships and other strategic initiatives
- Own financial governance, internal controls, regulatory compliance and financial reporting
- Chair the Asset Liability Management Committee and sit on the Loan Credit Committees
- Lead and develop the Controller, Business Intelligence and Treasury functions
Key skills for the Chief Financial Officer role:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive financial leadership including executive-level responsibility
- Strong background in financial strategy, asset liability management, liquidity, investments, capital planning, budgeting, risk management and regulatory reporting
- Demonstrable experience across consumer and commercial lending, and how lending strategy, pricing, credit quality and balance sheet performance intersect
- Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial institution accounting, treasury management and National Credit Union Administration regulations
- Experience of mergers and acquisitions, enterprise transformation or other significant organizational change is preferable
- Credit union, bank or other complex financial institution background, ideally $4bn plus in assets
This Chief Financial Officer role is ideal for someone sitting at VP of Finance level who is ready for the full seat, in an organization with the scale and the growth agenda to make that a genuine step up rather than a sideways move.
The role does require you to be on-site so please do not apply requesting remote working as this will result in your application being rejected. You must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder. I can not consider applications requiring sponsorship at this time.
