ShortList is recruiting a Director of Sales on behalf of an established investment management firm. Our client provides advisory solutions to institutional clients across the US, and is now expanding its commercial team to drive its next phase of growth.
This is a senior, quota-carrying new business appointment. You will own a defined territory, building your own pipeline from the ground up, shaping each opportunity, and steering it all the way to a signed mandate. The remit is squarely about landing net-new clients and exceeding aggressive revenue targets.
This is a hunting role rather than relationship management. The firm needs a true self-starter who thrives on cold prospecting, disciplined outreach, and getting in front of decision-makers face to face. I would particularly like to hear from sales professionals who have sold advisory, investment, or capital markets services into credit unions, community banks, or other depository institutions, as well as senior finance or commercial leaders looking to move into a client-facing business development role.
Key Requirements
- A demonstrated track record of external business development into the Banking sector (cold calling, pipeline build, CRM management)
- Experience selling into regional and community banks is key
- Knowledge of asset-liability management, fixed income, balance sheet strategy, and hedging
- Experience selling into the C-suite and senior decision-makers
- Solid commercial understanding of finance and the broader financial services landscape
- Strong strategic sales planning with a record of beating target
- Confident with contracts, negotiating, and change management
- Product demonstration experience
