Director of AI Solutions Sales

USA Remote

$350k OTE

ShortList is recruiting a Director of AI Solutions Sales on behalf of a US employee-owned global consultancy that helps large enterprises turn their data into commercial advantage. Our client works with household names across banking, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing, and is now scaling its AI and analytics practice.

This is a senior, quota-carrying sales appointment. You will be the commercial face of the firm's AI, analytics, and data platform offerings, generating your own pipeline, shaping the deal, and steering it all the way to signature. The remit spans landing brand-new logos as well as growing wallet share inside existing accounts.

This is a hunting role rather than account farming. The firm needs someone who can hold their own in the boardroom, build a compelling business case for transformation, and close strategic engagements that frequently run into seven figures. Equal parts commercial operator and credible technologist.

Key Requirements for the Director of AI Solutions Sales

  • At least 7 years selling into enterprise accounts, including a minimum of 2 years focused on data, analytics, or cloud platform services
  • A consistent record of hitting and beating number while selling data, analytics, or cloud solutions
  • Hands-on experience closing Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable data platform deals, ideally co-selling with their field and partner teams
  • Comfortable steering long, multi-threaded enterprise deals where individual contract values sit at $500K and above
  • A background as an individual contributor carrying a quota inside a consulting or professional services business
  • Educated to degree level in business, computer science, or similar; a postgraduate qualification is a plus

Key Skills required for the Director of AI Solutions Sales

  • Fluent in modern, value-led sales frameworks such as MEDDIC or Challenger, and disciplined about applying them
  • Enough grasp of data warehousing, design, and analytics use cases to hold a credible conversation with technical buyers
  • Able to translate the value of Databricks and Snowflake into business language for executives, with a working view of where AI, ML, and generative AI are heading commercially
  • Reads the competitive field well, including Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, AWS, Google, and Palantir
  • Genuine boardroom presence, with the credibility to win the trust of C-suite and other senior decision-makers
  • Methodical about territory and account planning, and rigorous in the CRM, whether that is Salesforce or an equivalent
  • Brings a live network across the AI, analytics, and data platform world, spanning ISVs, integrators, and enterprise buyers

I would particularly like to hear from people coming out of data and analytics consultancies, systems integrators, or cloud and data platform vendors.

The position is fully remote, with the occasional trips out for client meetings, industry events, and partner conferences.
